Jim Simpson, Managing Director

Jim Simpson, Managing Director

Jim is the Founder and Managing Director of Ziptech.  He’s been in the IT industry longer than he cares to remember and has come up through the sales and marketing route into management.  At the height of the dot.com boom Jim was interim CEO for a number of IT companies sorting out some of the excesses of the period.   In the end he became so frustrated with IT service that he had to set up his own support company.

 

Lewis Sheridan, Support Team Leader

Lewis Sheridan, Technical Consultant

Lewis is one of our senior support consultants and engineers. Having several years experience at the corporate end of the market, Lewis has focused his talents to the small-medium business space which he feels is more dynamic and challenging. Bringing with him structured support process, and enterprise-level support experience, he actively thrives on implementing IT solutions for small businesses whereby he can directly see and manage the fruits of his labour. 

 

Gareth Scott, Principal Technical Consultant

Gareth Scott, Senior Technical Consultant

Gareth is our Microsoft Server and Exchange specialist – in fact he’s our resident super techie.  He’s spent the last 9 years as an IT support specialist with clients such as the NHS, Local Government and Porsche; however his favorite client was undoubtedly Ben & Jerry’s.   Prior to becoming a support specialist Gareth was fortunate enough to get paid to test computer games.

 

Alex Lemke, Technical Consultant

Alex Lemke, Technical Consultant

Alex is one of our support line stalwarts and is currently studying to improve his Microsoft accreditations.  He joined us after setting up his own home IT support business.  He found the time to train as a ski instructor during his university years, so if you need any ski tips when you’re getting support from Alex feel free to ask – there’s no charge for this service.

 

Matt Welch, Technical Consultant

Matt Welch, Technical Consultant

Matt is our Support Desk anchor man, so if you call in for support very often it’s Matt who will answer your call. Matt has a great pedigree on desktop support having been involved in the support of systems with over 1,500 PC’s – so he knows how to sort out your problems quickly and efficiently! Outside work Matt main interests are cars (Audi TT) and music. He’s a keen clubber and sometimes even works as a DJ.

 

John Richards, Technical Consultant

John Richards, Technical Consultant

John is without doubt the most qualified person in Ziptech having both a Degree and a Masters in Information Systems Engineering. John is our main Telecoms engineer with over 10 years experience in this area. However he has many strings to his bow: on occasion John works on the Support Desk providing network and PC support. On other occasions he practices Kung Fu and the Lambada – but not in the office!

 

Radwan Khader, Operations Director

Radwan Khader, Business Development Director

Rad is responsible for commercial operations and managing our clients.  He has 30 years IT industry experience starting as a programmer before moving to the commercial side of the business where he held various director level posts.  The most recent was as CEO of Synergy Software Systems in Dubai.  He likes his food and regularly brings in dishes that he has cooked at home – usually too hot and spicy for most of us.

 

Perry Bowles, Technical Director

Perry Bowles, Technical Director

Perry runs our support and onsite services team.  He started in the IT industry in the early days of the PC as a partner in a computer retail business back in 1988.  He’s also had spells installing dealing systems in the City and running an operations team in the gaming industry.  If he wasn’t doing this he would undoubtedly be a guitarist in a band – we haven’t managed to persuade him to remove his ponytail yet.

Jess

Despite her advancing years Jess insists on coming into the office each day.   She feels it’s her job to stop any deliveries to the office.  Thankfully she hasn’t succeeded yet!   If you are on the phone with us you might occasionally hear her in the background trying to see a delivery person off the premises.  When she’s not doing that she’s usually snoozing quietly in the sun.
