Meet some more of the Ziptech Services IT Support Team
Our people are the heart of our service, so let’s meet some of the team…
Jim Simpson, Founder and CEO
Jim founded Ziptech at a time when his frustration with IT Support companies was at its height. Working as a turnaround CEO, he realised that the performance of each of these companies who sought his advice could be remarkably improved with better IT. Jim decided to set up a straight-talking, skilled and well-organised IT service business with customer needs at its heart.Usually focused on healthy eating and keeping fit, Jim can often fall prey to his weakness for chocolate.
His other passions include his love for his dogs Ben and Mini who can often be found curled up by his desk.
Perry Bowles. Technical Director, Ziptech Services
With over 25 years of technical and commercial experience, Perry has a 360° understanding of what businesses need from IT. Perry plays an important part in on-boarding new clients as well as being the technical architect of initiatives aimed at delivering the highest level of strategic, managed services.
Perry hasn’t yet attained the heights of his musical aspirations but nonetheless loves the creative elements of developing a business.
Radwan Khader. Director of Operations
Radwan, or Rad for short, is the Operations Director responsible for commercial and back office functions.
Before Joining Ziptech, Rad and Jim Simpson (the CEO of Ziptech) worked together for 10 years for a leading UK ERP software development company. Rad has 40 years IT industry experience starting as a programmer before moving to the commercial side of the business where he held various director level posts.During this period, Rad had a 5 and a 3 years placements in the Middle East working for local IT Companies. The latter as the CEO of a Dubai Based IT Solutions Provider.
Born in Jerusalem, Rad arrived in the UK in 1970 to continue his higher education and graduated from Essex University with BSc degree in Computer Science.
Amit Parbat, Service Manager
Leading our services team, Amit is focused on building nothing less than a world-class service desk based on a structured training programme for engineers and robust maintenance and monitoring procedures for every Ziptech client. Amit manages performance based on a rigorous set of KPIs in which customer satisfaction levels feature heavily.
When he’s not working, Amit enjoys movies, music and sport.
Bradley Glover, Senior Server Engineer
Bradley joined Ziptech on an apprenticeship scheme in 2012. Since then, he has worked his way through many roles and is now part of the systems team which helps monitor, maintain and repair client's network infrastructures and servers.
In his spare time, Bradley is a keen football fan and supports West Ham. He was also a serious Motocross enthusiast in his younger years, getting his first 50cc when he was just three years old.
Johnson Ma, Senior Desktop Engineer
Johnson got into IT during 6th form but it took him several years to realise that it was the career he really wanted to pursue. Having worked briefly with a large legal firm in the City, he then joined Ziptech where he enjoys the fast pace of change within the IT industry. He’s particularly keen on Ziptech’s study scheme and has already qualified as a Windows engineer.
Johnson spends his leisure time playing Badminton as well as more virtual PC games. He’s also a keen cinema goer and regularly checks out the latest releases.
Connor Simmons, Senior Desktop Engineer
After completing a three year IT course at college, Connor started out as an apprentice with Ziptech in 2014. Since then, he has progressed to the role of Desktop Engineer and is pursuing a course of industry exams which will continue to improve his skills. A born techie, Connor spends much of his free time with guess what? Computers. A recent project involved swapping out the old components of his home pc and rebuilding it.
Sue Gordon, Customer Support
As a former Reception Manager at a busy GP surgery, Sue is well-‘practiced’ in handling urgent enquiries. Sue is your first port of call at the Ziptech Service Desk. Her job is to ensure the engineers’ time is optimised by logging your call, allocating a ‘ticket’ to the relevant engineer and monitoring progress.
Sue enjoys learning new skills and has been known to close some first line tech problems herself.
Meet The Ziptech IT Support Dogs
Jess was one of the founders of Ziptech – back when it started as a “1 man and a dog operation” with Jess and Jim Simpson!
Unfortunately Jess is no longer with us, however clients and suppliers still ask about her. She was such an important part of the company in the early days that it feels right to mention her here. Despite her advancing years Jess insisted on coming into the office each day. She always felt it was her job to stop any deliveries to the office! When she wasn’t doing that she was usually snoozing quietly in the sun.
Ben is the most recent addition to the Ziptech dogs. Very laid back and loving to all people, especially the ones that give him treats!
Ben is a rescue dog and the most well behaved of our dogs. Although if he can escape the office for a quick sprint around the marina on his own he will!
Mini is a little Shitzu(!) and by far the most excitable of our dogs. She actually belongs to Jim’s step daughter, but enjoys coming to the office. She’s all of 6 inches tall, but nobody has told her – she thinks she runs the office!
She’s often found killing time by chasing her tail! Mini can’t allow other dogs to get any attention without getting some herself. A real Princess.
Dinky is a “Jackadoodle” – a black and grey Jack Russell and Poodle cross. She is 2 years old, and belongs to Bob Barlow (see above). Her favourite things to do are lazing about, and eating lots and lots.
She hasn’t yet met the other dogs at Ziptech Services but Bob confidently predicts that she will get on with them really well, as she’s such a softie with everyone else!
